FAQ

Will it hurt?

This is the most frequently asked question. Usually, the first time is the most uncomfortable. You are going where you haven’t gone before, and you don’t know what to expect. Also, on your first visit, you are removing the greatest amount of hair. With repeat visits, the amount of hair regrowth is less, and the discomfort is greatly diminished.

To minimize discomfort, we use only a custom-blended hard wax made especially for us. Our wax is made of all-natural ingredients that are climatized to this area, so it sticks to the hair only and not to the skin. Our wax is a high-quality wax exclusive to Brazils that performs the best with the least discomfort. That is what our clients deserve.

What type of wax do you use?

We use a hard, strip-less wax that adheres to the hair and not the skin. Our custom made Elate brand professional wax is Vegan based. Designed for full body usage, and fast drying time with a low heat melting point. It is designed for the most painless Brazilian wax on the market.

What is the difference between hard wax and soft wax?

Hard wax adheres only to the hair and not the skin. It is much less painful than soft wax. Soft wax adheres to the exposed hair shaft AND the skin. Usually, the skin is torn away and the hair shaft can break off at the surface.

Will it grow back thicker?

Shaving bends the hair and cuts it at an angle (see the photos on our “Why Wax?” page), leaving a shar, a pointed, thick shaft we all call stubble. This “hair spear” continues to grow in thick, sharp, and uncomfortable.

Waxing surrounds the hair and removes the shaft AND the root. It takes much more time for a new hair to take the place of the old one, and the time between waxes gets continually longer. When the new hair eventually grows in, it is soft and not stubbly.

How long before I need to wax again?

That depends on the individual and what you have been doing before waxing. It is important to have at least ¼ inch of growth before your initial waxing to achieve maximum hair removal. Most people get their second treatment three to four weeks after that and come in for their third visit four to five weeks after that. After the third visit, you can increase the time between visits, as hair regrowth will be greatly reduced. The more consistent you are with your treatment schedule, the better your results will be.

Do I have to be nude?

It depends on the service. For most services, no, but for Brazilian waxes, yes. All of our wax specialists are ladies with years of experience and State-approved certifications. This is what they do, all day, and they keep it professional. We also provide draping in the room if you desire. For a Brazilian wax, you will only need to undress from the waist down, including your underwear.

What is a bikini wax?

A bikini wax is just the hair along the outside of your underwear line, along the sides and across the top.

What exactly is a Brazilian wax, and how long does it take?

A Brazilian wax is the complete removal of the pubic hair, front and back. You can decide to leave some hair or remove it completely. The Brazilian wax itself should take no longer than 30 to 45 minutes.

What is a Brazilian Mini?

A Brazilian Mini is all of the hair on the top and sides of the panty line and as much or as little as you would like off of the front.

What is included in the full body?

Full body includes everything from the shoulders down. It does NOT include any facial features.

What does the full face include?

The full face includes brows, lip, chin, nostrils, sideburns, cheeks and forehead.

Can I get a bikini or Brazilian wax while on my menstrual cycle or pregnant?

Yes. However, during your cycle, the area may be more sensitive, and it makes the procedure less comfortable. We suggest a mild pain reliever before you come. We do require you wear a tampon, but you CAN be waxed on your period.

There is no reason you cannot get waxed during your pregnancy. However, we would prefer you discuss with your physician before your visit.

What if I am on medication?

Please advise us of any medical or skin conditions, or any medications or treatments prescribed by a doctor such as Accutane, AHA, Corticosteriods, Derma-Peel, Differin, Elocon, Kenalog, Lymph Node Removal, Renova, Retin-A, Retinol, or Prednisone. Users of these medications and treatments are advised to not wax the face, as these medications tend to weaken the skin, and abrasions may occur when the wax is removed.

Can I walk-in or do I need a reservation?

You may certainly come in any time. We do get very busy, so we recommend reservations. Both our website and Facebook page allow you to check for times, pick your service, select your specialist and schedule your appointment. It’s easy! Just press “Book Now” on the website or “Book 24/7″ on Facebook.

I forgot to cancel my reservation. Do I get penalized for this?

Hey, things happen; we understand. We ask that you cancel your appointment as soon as you know that you will not make it.

If I am running late, what is your policy?

How old do you have to be to wax?

Do I have to trim or prepare the hair before waxing?

No, our wax specialists will take care of everything and walk you through the process.

Can I wax if I have a sunburn?

What should I avoid after a waxing service?

You will want to make sure to wait at least 48 hours before exfoliating. You also should refrain from any activity that could cause excessive sweating or friction in the area. Things that are not suggested until after 48 hours are; exercise, swimming, sex etc.

I am male. Can I still get a Brazilian? How does it work?

Yes, you can! Our BrazilMan service includes total removal of the front and butt strip for men. Feel free to contact us if you have additional questions.

I shaved 3 days ago, can I still get waxed?

No, you will need at the very minimum 10 days after shaving before the hair is long enough to wax.

I usually get ingrowns when shaving, will waxing help?

Absolutely! But only if you are a consistent waxer. Ingrowns will be reduced over time.

What should I use for ingrowns?

All of our products, when used consistently will help reduce the frequency and severity of ingrowns. The prevent and repair are both very effective products for ingrowns.

Why is waxing better than shaving?

Waxing removes hair from the root. Shaving can break the hairs causing different growth cycles. Waxing has a smoother feel and lasts longer than shaving.
