When you get a Brazilian wax or bikini wax at our spa, we use hard wax because it works the best and produces the least amount of redness and itching. We use it for bikini lines, full bikini areas, and complete Brazilian waxes that include intimate areas. In this blog, we will discuss our waxing services and point out what sessions might be right for your needs so you can look your best at school or at the beach.
Let’s delve into what you should avoid after waxing services.
Hot Water
For at least 24 hours after the waxing session, you should avoid having a hot bath or sitting in a hot tub. The reason is that your skin is easily infected by bacteria, and hot water will irritate your skin. If you must take a shower or bath, take a cool or lukewarm bath after a Brazilian wax or arm and leg wax. Wait about 48 hours before swimming in a pool or at the beach, as the chlorine or salt water in the ocean can irritate your sensitive skin.
Excessive Exercise
After your waxing session, excessive exercise to the point where you sweat is not recommended. Wait 48 hours before working out to make sure that sweat does not irritate your freshly waxed skin. It’s best to wear loose clothing in the days following your waxing appointment to give your skin the opportunity to breathe. When you have had hair removed, your skin needs some time to heal properly. Give your skin space by avoiding exercise and by wearing loose clothing.
What Can You Do to Heal Faster?
It is recommended to put cold compresses or a cloth with cool water on the areas you have had waxed. A water bottle with chilly water and ice can be gently applied to bumps, red areas, and rashes. You can apply lotion and gels recommended by your waxing services to the area to help heal the skin. Moisturize your skin a few days after treatment and wait to exfoliate until at least three days after treatment to increase healing.
