Laser hair removal has become a more popular method of hair removal as awareness of it grows. Laser hair removal works by using a specific wavelength of light to create heat at the hair root, essentially destroying the cells to prevent the hair from regrowing. Depending on the area from which you want to remove hair, it takes between three and eight sessions to complete laser hair removal, with six weeks between each appointment. Every session costs a minimum of $150, but that is only for the upper lip; any other body part is going to cost you far more. Laser hair removal also only works for certain people. If you have fair skin and dark hair, the laser can focus on the hair more easily. If you have a darker skin tone or hair that is lighter than your skin tone, you may not be able to receive laser hair removal. If you do, there is greater risk of burns because the laser cannot differentiate between your skin and hair. On top of all this, the procedure is more painful than waxing! Imagine waiting almost a year to fully remove the hair you hate, going through those painful sessions knowing that you still have weeks left?

Why Waxing is Better

Sure, the idea of never having to worry about hair removal again sounds awesome, but laser hair removal is extremely expensive and painful, takes a long time, and isn’t an option for everyone. Waxing keeps you smooth for weeks, and over time, as you get waxed more and more often, your hair regrowth diminishes and may even stop altogether.
